It's worthwhile to work with your child a bit to ensure they know to turn the crank in the back clockwise. Mine kept trying to go counter and I wonder if some of the broken ones mentioned in reviews might have been put through the same issue. So far my four year old loves this and she has proven to me that this Barbie can wear clothes other than the dress she came with. Anything with a low enough back or that has a fastener at the neck and waist can accommodate her giant "backpack".
Really nice, but not for the very young

I bought this for a pre-teen relative who loves Barbies as much as her mother did when she was a child. She liked theBarbie Mariposa & the Fairy PrincessDVD and this seemed like the perfect gift for her. The doll is quite attractive and wings are large, colorful, and glittery. Pressing the necklace makes the wings pop out and they are HUGE. I was pretty surprised at the size of the box it came in (it's shipped with the wings extended).
The wings and mechanism seem a bit fragile and won't survive hard play, so this particular doll may not be appropriate for very young Barbie aficionados.

We bought this for my six year old for Christmas. It arrived on time and when we opened it, it was in great condition. The barbie itself is so fun. We all played with it and I don't play with toys. Her wings fold up with a turn knob on the back of her and when her wings release and fill out it's pretty cool. Her wings are large which makes it look even cooler. Great Buy. I was very happy with this buy.

My four year old loves this doll. It was number one on her Christmas list. She is a lovely doll and very impressive to look with the large wings that fly out. There is a crank on her back that when turned sends her wings down and around her like a dress. Then when her necklace (attached) is pressed the wings quickly crank out and around her. Very impressive. But we are a week in and one wing is looking skiwoompus. I don't expect her to look impressive for long. But my daughter loves her.

Barbie is one doll that has everything. Now she has wings. My daughter loves butterfly's. we plant flowers that attract them. Very easy to set up because you have to put the wings on. The only thing is Barbie's arms get in the way when closing the wings and opening them. The one thing I thought that was kind of interesting and everyone seems to point out when looking at the doll is that Barbie has a thong on. Its part of the outfit Barbie has on, but my daughter keeps saying Barbie's under pants is in her butt...
